(Maiden Name: Ethelbah)
The White Mountain Independent,
Show Low, Arizona ~ March 2, 2007
Brenda Ethelbah Quay closed her eyes for eternal sleep but only to be awakened by her Heavenly Father Friday, Feb. 23, 2007.
Brenda Ethelbah Quay was born to the late Christian and Belinda Pinal Ethelbah Nov. 29, 1938, in Bear Canyon, on the Ft. Apache Reservation. Brenda grew up in North Fork and spent most of her years down below Diamond Creek along with her brothers, Rimson, Jenson, the late Raymond and her sisters, Evelyn Ethelbah and the late Mildred Ethelbah Crocker.
In September 1955 she married Anderson Quay and started her family with four boys, Zane, Shore Sr., Michael, the late Dallas and a daughter, Mildred. They made their home in Diamond Creek where they still live today. She had 60 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Brenda will be remembered the most for her smile, kindness and love for all. She was always welcoming all she knew and loved with a hug, so she and all she had to give will be missed. She had such a wonderful sense of humor and was always pleasant to be with.
A two-night wake will be held in her honor beginning Friday, March 2, at her home in Diamond Creek. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, March 4, at North Fork Miracle Church. She will be laid to rest in the family plot at North Fork Sunday, March 4.
Arrangements are under the direction of Black's Mortuary of Show Low. Light a memory candle at www.brenda-quay.blacksmortuary.com.
