Lawrence I. Lubkin, 69 of Tucson passed away September 27, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late Meyer and Fannie Lubkin. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School and later Columbia University. He earned his Master’s degree in Biology from NC A&T.
Mr. Lubkin taught high school Chemistry and Biology in New Jersey until his retirement in 1996. In 2002, he and his wife, Alice vacationed in Tucson and decided to stay. It was in Tucson that Larry could enjoy his favorite pastime, cycling. He was an astute observer of the political scene, both locally and nationally and enjoyed conversation about politics. Larry had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyment of life that endeared him to everybody he met.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Alice; three daughters, Jennifer (James May) Lubkin, Margaret Lubkin, Andrea (Mitchell) Maricich; and his beloved grandson Gavin Maricich. He leaves two brothers, Saul of Rochester, NY and Elihu of Milwaukee, WI.

Graveside services will be held, Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in the Temple Emanu-El section of Evergreen Cemetery with Rabbi Samuel M. Cohon officiating.
