Evergreen Mortuary & Cemetery, Tucson, Arizona ~ September 14th 2010 Herbert Schneider, born July 29, 1921 in Stuttgart, Germany, died September 11, 2010 in Tucson. Survived by his wife, Inga Schneider; sons Ken Schneider (Judy Regensteiner) of Lakewood, CO, Ron Schneider (Julie Tronson) of Tucson; and two grandchildren, Max and Alyssa Schneider. He was preceded in death by his son Harvey and brother Paul. Being a Holocaust survivor, Herbie immigrated to the United States and resided in New York City until 1976, where his adventurous spirit bought him and his family to Tucson. He worked for Stuttgart Auto House as a parts clerk and then Suntran as a part time parts clerk until he fully retired. During retirement he volunteered at Sabino Canyon. He also volunteered to share his experiences as a Holocaust survivor at local schools, at D. M. Air force Base and at Ft. Huachuca, which were highly regarded and appreciated. Herbie loved Tucson and was always an ambassador for our community. Services Tuesday, September 14, 2010, 10 AM at EVERGREEN MORTUARY. Interment to follow in the B’nai B’rith Section of Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY.
