NEUMAN,
Susan
(Maiden Name: Lox)
Evergreen Mortuary
Tucson, Arizona
Susan Neuman was born June 16, 1922 in Selisht, Czechoslovakia to her beloved parents, Moshe and Feige Leah Lox. As a child, she loved school and was an excellent student, her favorite subject being geography. Unfortunately, her studies were haulted by the Holocaust, to which the lives of her mother and seven brothers and sisters were tragically taken.
She survived the concentration camps (as did her father and sister, Chaya) and was rescued by the Swedish Red Cross. In Sweden, she met her one and only true love, Meyer. Susie came to the United States in 1948. She went to work as a seamstress for Bobby Brooks in Cleveland, Ohio - she was one of the best. Two years later, Meyer joined her in Cleveland and they married on October 29, 1950. In 1956 they moved to Tucson where Susie raised her family.
Susie was a homemaker extraordinaire and a care-giver to all in need. Her family was her one true pride and joy. She also enjoyed tutoring students at Tucson Hebrew Academy, speaking to schools about the Holocaust as part of the Jewish Federation Holocaust Education Program and teaching others how to bake Challah and keep a Kosher home.
Susie is preceded in death by her parents and 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Meyer, her daughter Rosie, her sons Phil, Murray and Jerry, son-in-law Paul Kahn, daughters-in-law Barb and Vicki as well as her adopted daughter, Linda Roy. Her seven grandchildren, Yoneet, Sheeri, Michael, Gilon, Daniel, Jake and Jade and her step-grandson Michael and adopted granddaughter Sari will miss their Bubby deeply. Susie had the spirit of a lioness but the soul of a lamb.
Susan greatly appreciated the love and care given to her and Meyer by their devoted care-givers, Ilene, Pat and Julie.
