Billy Bruce Farmer died March 2, 2007.
He was born March 10, 1925. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a ball turret gunner, flying 40 missions based in England. He attended Oklahoma A&M and Oklahoma University before moving his family to Elk City, Okla., in 1950, where he worked for Shell Oil Company.
He married Grace Kinkel in Amarillo, Texas in 1995. They moved to Apache Junction, then Show Low.
He is survived by his daughter, Marsha (Ed) McComas of Elk City Okla.; one sister, Geraldine of Broken Arrow, Okla., two stepchildren, Vickie (Jeff) Young and Bobby (Helen) Kunkel, both of Amarillo, Texas; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jack Farmer, and his wife, Grace, who died Feb. 17, 2007.
Memorial services were held March 7 at the High Country Church of Christ in Show Low.
