Danny G. Leer, 60, of Cave Creek, Arizona, passed away on January 3, 2004. Danny was born and raised in Drumright, Oklahoma, and came to Arizona in 1966 where he was stationed at Luke Air Force Base.
While serving four years in the Air Force, he discovered his love for flying and soon began a career in general aviation serving as a flight instructor, chief pilot and director of operations for several aviation companies. He had been employed with the Federal Aviation Administration since 1985 where he served as an aviation inspector, and later as a flight standards supervisor.
Danny is survived by his wife of 35 years, Annette Wike Leer; two daughters, Christy Wadas and Amber Leer; granddaughter, Lauren Ann Leer; four sisters, Carol Avis of San Jose, CA, Linda Miller of Tulsa, OK, Vickie Campbell of Liberty, IN, and Debi Mower of Wichita, KS; brother, Sammy Atkins of Madisonville, KY.
Visitation Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at Hansen Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale. Funeral Services January 8 at Hansen Desert Hills Chapel with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Glendale, AZ.
