Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Wednesday, October 20, 2010 Lucy G. Rondan of Atlanta, Mich., formerly of Flagstaff, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010. Mrs. Rondan was born Nov. 29, 1917, in Magdalena, N.M., to Manuel and Rosa Schaeffer. In May of 2007, she moved to Atlanta, Mich., where she was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Mrs. Rondan and her husband, Jaraldo Rondan, moved to Michigan in 1952. Mrs. Rondan worked for the Highland Park General Hospital in the dietary department for 10 years. In 1977, she moved back to Flagstaff, where she worked for the Northern Arizona University cafeteria for 10 years, and then for Northland Crisis Center for an additional 10 years. Her favorite thing to do at the center was to care for the children. She was a devout Catholic and very active in her church, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and was also a member of the Legion of Mary Society and volunteered at the chapel in Flagstaff. She loved to sew and work with flowers. She always put the needs of others first and had a gift of giving comforting guidance for whatever situation that would arise. Mrs. Rondan is survived by her children, Fernando Bojorquez of California, Inos (Charles) Brichetto of Smith Creek, Mich., Lucille (Daniel) Braun of Atlanta, Mich. and Rosalie (Robert) Rutledge of Cottonwood; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister Cecelia Pearce of Chicago; and brother Edgar Schaffer of Flagstaff. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jaraldo; two infant children, Irma and Robert; three brothers, George, Eddie and Henry Schaeffer; and one great-grandson. A memorial Mass will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Michigan with Father Raymond Cotter officiating. Visitation will be before Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at the Briley Township Cemetery.
