A Wickenburg resident for 35 years, Ray Jerrells, 60, died May 3.
A native of Texas, he attended college as a petroleum engineering student and worked in the oil fields. He worked as an air force glider pilot in World War II.He had recently retired from Hadley Trucking, for whom he had driven cross country and the Phoenix to Las Vegas route for the past 25 years.
A member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign War and Masonic Lodge, he was active in the community.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie, two sons, Doctor Tom Jerrells of Maryland and Jack Jerrells of Washington, his mother Augusta Jerrells of Dallas and a sister, Orlene Goldman of Dallas.
Graveside services were held May 6 at the Wickenburg Cemetery with the American Legion and VFW conducting the service.
