Black's Mortuary, Show Low, Arizona Ronald H. Lewis (May 7, 1951 - October 19, 2010) Ronald H. Lewis, 59, of Vernon, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010, in Phoenix. He was born May 7, 1951, in Brownfield, TX, to Edward and Katherine (Gage) Moody. He was raised in several Texas towns. He moved to Mobile, AL, where he was married to Stephanie Smith in 1984. He worked up and down the east coast painting and sandblasting ships and tankers. He came to the White Mountains in 1999. He worked for Applied Communications until his illness. Ronald loved fishing and riding his Harley. He enjoyed putting old car models together. He was an excellent handyman, and could put together anything. He also loved traveling in his truck and trailer. Survivors include his wife, Stephanie; mother Katherine Moody of Show Low; and brothers Gene Lewis of Show Low and Luther Ray Lewis of Mobile, AL. He was preceded in death by his stepfather Ray Moody. Arrangements are pending. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ October 29, 2010 Ronald Harlen Lewis, 59, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix during a bone marrow transplant. He battled leukemia for 8-½ years and continued to work even in treatment. He was born in Brownfield, Texas. He and his wife, Stephanie, have been residents of Vernon for 12 years and have loved every day living there. Ronald loved most riding his Harley Davidson. He and Stephanie have ridden most of the Arizona highways and the surrounding states. Left behind are his beloved wife, Stephanie of Mobile, Ala., after 26 years of a wonderful marriage; mother Kathryn Moody of Show Low; and brothers Gene Lewis of Show Low and Luther Ray Moody of Mobile, Ala. Ronnie had a great life and lots of friends. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at noon, Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the First Baptist Church in Show Low.
