Lawrence Fielding McMullin died peacefully Feb. 8, 2007 in Peoria.
Lawrence was born in Clay Springs March 26, 1926, to Oscar Lynn McMullin and Pearl Perkins McMullin. He spent two years in the Navy on the USS Biloxi in World War II in the Pacific. After being discharged, he returned to northern Arizona, where he drove log trucks for Crandell and Parker Lumber Company, and later started working for Whiting Bros., driving gasoline tankers for over thirty years. While working for Whiting Bros. in Holbrook, he received an award for driving over one million accident-free miles.
He was known for his honesty and reliability in his work and private life. He married Jean Petersen March 11, 1950 at her parents' home in Pinedale.
He and Jean have two children, daughter, Debra Barnes of Phoenix; and son, Larry Don McMullin of Peoria. Jean preceded him in death in June 2005.
Lawrence is survived by his two children; his daughter-in-law, Kathy McMullin; his grandsons, Ian and Bryce; granddaughter, Jessica MacNeil; brothers, Elwood and Richard; and sisters, Luana Rowley, Maurine Adams, Dixie Cameron, and Carla Wheeler.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13 at the Pinedale-Clay Springs Chapel at 10 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. The Chapel is located on Hwy. 260 between Pinedale and Clay Springs.
