Charles "Charlie" Edward Ham
On this day, Feb. 9, 2007, we celebrate with the angels as our beloved Charles (Charlie) Edward Ham, "Snookie", "Papa", was received into the arms of Jesus and guided into Heaven.
There he was greeted by his father, two brothers, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His mother, Tootsie Ham, sister Diane Johnston (Jim), children, Troy Ham (Tammi), Cindy Cherie Ham Ronish (Clay), Jody Ham Avery (Russ), along with grandchildren, grandpups, family and friends continue to rejoice in his life and eternal peace.
Charlie was born and raised in Bisbee, a 1959 graduate of Bisbee High School and a 1965 graduate of NAU. While attending NAU he managed the Americona Motel on Route 66 in Flagstaff, fought forest fires and worked in the Copper Queen Mine in Bisbee. He then returned to Bisbee to begin his teaching-coaching career at Bisbee High School, where he spent the next 29 years sharing love and wisdom with students and staff. Charlie's love for people and special charm led him to a second career in real estate.
He also ran a yard maintenance business and enjoyed being a sales associate at Dillard's in Sierra Vista. He was welcomed into his daughter Jody's and son-in-law Russ's home, where he was loved and cared for in Pinetop. Charlie's hobbies included golf, woodcutting and shopping. His love language was gifts which he shared freely with anyone in need. He loved talking to and being around people. He touched many lives in a special way and was loved by everyone he met.
Friends are welcome to join the family in a Celebration of Life at the Lion's Den Feb. 18, 2007 at 1 p.m. This was his favorite place for a Sunday afternoon wine burger.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to RTA Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation of the White Mountains (a non-profit organization), 1789 W. Commerce Drive, Lakeside, AZ 85929.
