The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ Thursday, October 21, 2010 James Carrol Schilz 1933 - 2010 James Carrol Schilz, 77, resident of Camp Verde, born February 25, 1933, died October 8, 2010. Mr. Schilz was born in Sidney, Nebraska to Mark Nicholas Schilz and Leona Irene Heeg. Jim grew up in the Sidney and Platte center areas of Nebraska. Jim was a man who saw the world with his work. His stories will forever be cherished and missed. His knowledge, passed down to his sons, is still helping us through our lives and will always be remembered. Jim loved his wife, Beverly, sharing a marriage of 57 years. Together Jim and Beverly had four sons and one daughter: Tim, Terry, Tom, Tracy and Pam Schilz. He also had 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Mr. Schilz died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Oct. 8, 2010. We will forever miss his wonderful smile and all the joyfulness he has brought to us all. Jim is survived by his wife, Beverly, four sons, three brothers, three sisters, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Schilz and grandson Timothy Schilz, great grandson Gavin Schilz, and his parents Mark and Leona Schilz. Information provided by survivors.
