WOODWARD, Arvilla


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ February 23, 2007 Arvilla Woodward, 92, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at the RTA Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Lakeside. She was born in Safford where she grew up and attended school. She married Ben Lee when she was 16. Following a divorce, she met and married John S. Woodward in Sept. of 1935. They lived in Safford before moving to Phoenix. In 1942 they moved to Encinitas, Calif. In 1949 their family moved to Englewood, Colo. where they lived before returning to California, making their home in El Cajon. They moved to Show Low in 1970 where John worked for Eb Lewis at Cash and Carry. During the majority of her life, Mrs. Woodward was a homemaker. Mrs. Woodward is survived by her daughter, Betty L. Neal-Henneman of Oakhurst, Calif.; sons, Donald S. Woodward and Lloyd R. Woodward, both of Show Low; sister, Raylene Boatman of Fontana, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral Services were held at Feb. 20, at Owens Mortuary Chapel in Show Low. Interment was in the Show Low Cemetery.
