BROWN, Ruth (Sandy)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, October 23, 2010 Ruth "Sandy" Brown passed away in Prescott on Oct. 15, 2010, at the age of 82 after a long illness. Sandy was born in London, England, on Oct. 16, 1927, the daughter of Charles and Elaine Channell. The family moved to New York, where Sandy grew up. Sandy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Lyle Brown; daughter Deborah Ordway (Richard); sons Thomas Polite (Mary) and Patrick Brown (Julia); stepsons Bradley Brown and Gregory Brown; and grandchildren Anna Ordway, Cameron Brown and Sydney Brown. Sandy had a passion for traveling and so she traveled all over the world. She would always bring home what she later called her "treasures." We are fortunate to have those "treasures" throughout the home she shared for over 35 years with her husband. At home, she would prepare programs for 6th-grade classes in Prescott about her travels. Sandy and her husband Lyle volunteered at the VA hospital for many years. Sandy will be truly missed by her loving family and friends. A memorial service for Sandy will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave., Prescott, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
