The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ Oct 25, 2010 Sandy Finstad, 71, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010 in St. Johns. She was born Dec. 31, 1938 in Sioux Falls, S.D. to Arthur Hoffman and Ruby Irene Sutton Hoffman. Sandy was an active resident of St. Johns and extremely instrumental in building recognized horse shows and horse events. She was a horse trainer, gave riding lessons and served on the city council. Sandy enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, art and she loved her friends and family. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Anderson, St. Johns; Mary Wagner, Phoenix; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
