Jennie June Benally, 56, of Cameron, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix with her family by her side.
Mrs. Benally was born Nov. 19, 1953, in Morenci. Her maternal clan is Bitterwater; paternal clan is Yucca Fruit. She is a graduate of Wingate High School. She found joy in helping people and worked in several different occupations with law enforcement, clerical and customer service. Throughout her life, she made friends with her outgoing and charismatic personality. She loved to spend time with her family and granddaughter Zooey, cooking for special occasions, completing crossword puzzles, watching movies and traveling. She brought love, laughter and happiness to all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Tony Semallie; daughter Tia Felix; sons Myron Benally and Terrence Semallie; mother Maryann Benally; sisters Roseann Benally, Lynda Benally and Darlene Yazzie; brothers Benny Benally, Dan Benally, Edward Benally, Earl Benally, Alvin Benally and Gene Benally; and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father Allen Benally; brothers Anderson Benally and Ernest Erikson; and sister Betty Phelps.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. (MST) at Assembly of God Church, in Cameron.
