CASOOSE, Wilkie


Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, October 27, 2010 Wilkie Casoose, 64, of Bylas, passed away Oct. 15, 2010. He was born Dec. 19, 1945 to Ralph and Marie Casoose. During his younger years they lived in Eager, Ariz. attending Round Valley schools. Later he moved to Bylas where he lived with his sister Linda attending Fort Thomas schools. Soon after high school Wilkie was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served in the Vietnam conflict. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, Wilkie went back to Eager and started working at the sawmill and the round-up with the San Carlos Cattle Association. Wilkie met Glory Goseyun and they were married on April 17, 1975. Wilkie worked for the Morenci mine for over 20 years as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. Due to health problems, he retired in 2003 and they moved to Bylas. Wilkie loved the outdoors, going hunting, fishing and camping. He loved reading the Bible and teaching his grandchildren about the Bible. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He leaves behind his wife, Glory Casoose of Bylas; his son, Marty Casoose of Morenci; daughters, Wendy Lang of Morenci, Wileeta Casoose of Scottsdale and Vicki Casoose of Bylas; brothers, Lester Casoose of Eager, Roger Casoose of Globe, Alden Casoose of San Francisco, and Gilmore Casoose of Bylas; sisters, Linda Wright of Bylas, Serena Pina of Cibecue, Jo Anna Aragon of Montana and Iris Casillas of Globe. Wilkie is preceded in death by his parents Marie and Ralph Casoose, brother Earl Lee Casoose, and sisters Clarissa Dosela and Rita Comb. Services were held Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at the Casoose residence in Bylas. Interment in the Bylas Veteran’s Cemetery Arrangements were under the direction of McDougal’s Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
