HOLDREAD, Stephen Wayne


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, October 27, 2010 Stephen Wayne Holdread April 14, 1948 – Oct. 20, 2010 Steve Holdread died at the age of 62. He was born in Argos, Ind., to Wayne and Barbara Holdread. Steve lived the majority of his life in Arizona, where he loved the desert. After marrying Karen Schaal, of Plymouth, Ind., they relocated to Lake Havasu City in 1970 where Steve worked as a land surveyor on the construction of the London Bridge. Steve and Karen established and operated Holdread Land Surveying for 34 years. Steve was active in the community, involved in the planning of S.A.R.A., Lake Havasu Motorcycle Club, the Colorado River Motorcycle Club, and taught ATV safety for 10 years. Motorcycles and ATVs were Steve’s lifelong passion and love; he spent every opportunity riding with his two children and grandchildren. Steve leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Karen; daughter, Denise, of Lake Havasu City; grandchildren, Kyle and Amber Finney; son, Chris, of Flagstaff; parents, Wayne and Barb, of Lake Havasu City; and sister, Joy L. Holdread, of Tucson. Per Steve’s wishes, there will be no services. It was his wish to be remembered while friends and relatives are out riding in the desert.
