WISE, Elizabeth (Betsy)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ October 29, 2010 Elizabeth "Betsy" Springer Wise went to be with the Lord Oct. 20, 2010, in Green Valley after losing an eight year battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 21, 1933, in Salem, Ohio to Wilbur and Nellie Springer. She graduated from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio with a major in elementary education. She enjoyed skiing, basketball, hiking and being with her family. In recent years she provided support for her sons' restaurant in the White Mountains. Betsy's passion was sharing her strong faith and her involvement with Christian Women's Club where she was active in numerous leadership activities. Her compassion and warm spirit will be missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by her husband, Carl of 53 years; son Bill Wise (Leann) of Nutrioso; and son Jim Wise of Springerville. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; brother Bill Springer and many nieces and nephews. Betsy was preceded in death by her daughter Linda and brother John Springer.
