Mildred Zimmerman, 85, died peacefully Dec. 3, 2008, at Bannon Springs Ranch in Vernon. Mildred was born in Lenapah, Okla., where she was grew up with her two brothers, Alan Tomes and Virgil Tomes. She also attended high school there.
She raised her children, Dian Scott and Larry Zimmerman, in Bartlesville, Okla. She started her career with the oil companies and worked at City Service Oil Company in Tulsa, Okla., where she retired.
She spent much of her retirement in Tulsa, spending her last years in Show Low with her family. Mildred loved music and loved to dance (she's dancing now). Mildred will be missed and always remembered by her family and friends.
She is survived by her brother, Alan Tomes; sister-in-law Helen Tomes; sister-in-law Doris Tomes; daughter Dian Scott and son Larry Zimmerman; her favorite grandchildren, Jennifer, Nick, Joseph, Jeff, Ryan, Chris, Olivia and Taylor; and great-grandchildren, Jeff Jr., Preston, Holly, Darrian, Scarlett, Kenny, Maliachi and Wesley.
She was greeted by her mother, Mary Moore, and brother Virgil Tomes; grandpa and grandma Anderson, aunts Opal, Mable and Pauline and her uncle Bill.
A memorial service will be held in Oklahoma.
