Aretta Elese Hunt Fish, 93, died at home surrounded by her family, Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, in Yukon, Okla. Aretta was born July 22, 1915, in Waterflow, N.M., to the late Charles and Charlotte (Mattice) Hunt.
In 1931 she married the love of her life, Donald Fish. They were married in the Mesa Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a mere 16 years old.
Aretta and Donald owned and operated the Homestead Café in Lakeside for 15 years before moving to Joplin, Mo., in 1980. After two short years in Missouri, Donald passed away after 51 years of marriage.
Aretta is survived by her sons, Norris (Carole) Fish of Scottsdale and Leo (Evalee) Fish of Yukon, Okla.; daughter-in-law Georgia Fish of Oregon; 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and sister Elda Burk of Eagar.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and son Don Ray Fish.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Lakeside Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1520 Church Lane. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services.
Interment will follow in the Lakeside Cemetery.
