Zella Baldonado, 65, died Dec. 15, 2008, in Springerville. She was born Nov. 20, 1943, in Morenci to Ernest Cordova and Charlotta Trujillo.
Zella was a teachers' aide, cashier and a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and listening to music.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Baldonado; sons Freddie and E.J. Baldonado of Springerville and Leo Baldonado of Chicago, Ill.; daughter Melissa Bené of Mesa; brothers Ernie and Chris Cordova of Reserve, N.M.; sisters Violet Mills and Stella Armijo of Springerville, Yolanda Cordova of Silver City, N.M., Dolly Baca of Reserve, N.M., and Tina Gonzalez of Los Lunas, N.M.; and three grand-children.
Zella was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Laura Ruther and Catherine Marie Cordova.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Springerville. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, also at the church. Interment will follow at the Springerville Cemetery.
