TALLEY, George Dean


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ December 23, 2008 George Dean Talley, 86, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, at his home in Reserve, N.M. He was born Nov. 6, 1922, in Bayard, Kan., to Clyde Oliver Talley and Eva May Worden. George served in the U.S. Coast Guard from December 1942 to January 1946. During World War II, he was a carpenter's maid in charge of all water integrity on the Taney and saw action in battle in the Pacific. George was a fabulous man, wonderful husband, great father and a friend to many. He was a man of high integrity and loved by many. George was the owner of Wild Game Processing in Reserve, N.M. He is survived by his wife, Aline Talley of Reserve, N.M.; son David Talley of Fairoaks, Calif.; daughter Leeann Talley of Roseville, Calif.; stepson Robert Dean Cordell; five grandchildren, Dean Talley, Cody Heikkenen, Morgan Lee Cordell, Whitney Cordell and Tiffany Travis; and two great-grandchildren, Sky Travis and Dalton Travis. George was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bus and Bill and stepson Garry Cordell. Burnham Mortuary of Eagar handled arrangements.
