MELSTED, Pete E.

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ November 2, 2010 Pete E. Melsted died Oct. 26, 2010. He was born Dec. 12, 1943, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was an Air Force member from 1961-65 and graduate of Oregon Technical Institute of Klamath Falls, Ore. He was a loving and devoted father of Peter and Kelly Anne. Pete was a Boy Scout leader of Troop 61 and owned Highland Rental with Kathryn, his former wife of 30 years, in addition to operating other businesses such as Q Lube. He moved to Tucson in 1996 where he became involved in real estate and Dunkin’ Donuts. An avid outdoorsman, Pete enjoyed deep sea fishing, boating, scuba diving and riding his Harley. Pete is survived by his son, Peter (Audra) of Tucson; daughter Kelly Anne Melsted of Washington DC. A public memorial service and viewing will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at East Lawn Palms Chapel, 5801 E. Grant Rd. in Tucson. Reception to follow at the family residence.
