Copper Basin News Hayden, Az. ~ 5 Nov. 2010 Francisco Javier Martinez, 70, passed away at his home in Hayden Tuesday, Oct. 26. He was born Feb. 10, 1940, in Magdalena, Sonora, Mexico. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, particularly in the Church choir. He was a self-employed carpenter who also worked in the mines and was always a ready people helper. He could and did report or install electricity, plumbing and carpentry requirements in various structures. Survivors include his wife, Anita Ruiz Martinez; two step-sons, Robert of Hayden and Gilbert (Monica) of Oracle; step-daughter Christina of Winkelman; eight grandchildren, Lavena, Vincent, Noel, Desiree, Aracelli, Arianna, Andrea, and Gilbert Javier; and five great grandchildren. Services were conducted at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hayden Friday, Oct. 29. The 10:30 Rosary was followed by the Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Dale Branson. Interment was at Mt. View Cemetery. Griffith Mortuary assisted the family.
