The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ November 28, 2008 Laurette Eileen Sgambelluri, 65, a registered nurse from Alpine, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at RTA Hospice in Lakeside. She was born Sept. 27, 1943, at Hammond, Ind., to Silas and Charolette Bennett. She was reared and attended school in Indiana. She married David Sgambelluri Nov. 13, 1965, in Hammond. She received her nursing degree from the University of Indiana after which she worked in health care in Colorado before going to Mesa and Gilbert 35 years ago. After having a part-time home in Alpine, she and her husband moved there full-time 2-1/2 years ago. She enjoyed quilting, stained glass, the outdoors and riding quads. She was a very active member of the Alpine First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, David; two daughters, Tracy (Todd) Lightcap of Longmont, Colo., and Tonia (Brad) Booker of Meridian, Idaho; mother Charolette Bennett of Oblong, Ill.; brother Gary Bennett of California; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Keith Bennett. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Alpine First Baptist Church with Rev.
