GILLESPIE, William Alan (Billy)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ December 2, 2008 William Alan "Billy" Gillespie died Nov. 20, 2008, in Flagstaff. He was born July 19, 1942, in Cortez, Colo. Billy was a lifelong resident of Holbrook. He was a local mechanic all his life, having his own business in several locations in Holbrook, mainly from his home on McLaws Road, most recently for Dean Thompson, until his health made it impossible for him to work. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sharon; five children, Robert (Robin) Gillespie, Traci Hernandez, Vicki Gillespie, Anthony "Tony" (Gina) Gillespie and Kristi (Darrell) Jones; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Art (Mary) Gillespie and Gary "Jeep" (Susan) Gillespie, two sisters, Beverly Goodnight and Nancy (Mac) McAllester; uncle Marlin (Joni) Gillespie and aunt Martha Baca; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Snooky Gillespie, and granddaughter Alice "Ali" Hernandez. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Holbrook Elks Lodge.
