Jeffery R. Franklin, 38, resident of Carlsbad, N.M., died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, while working at Intrepid Potash Mine. He was born Sept. 20, 1969, in McNary to Anita Kay Willis-Franklin of Douglas and Rodney "Wayne" Halstead of Bayfield, Colo.
He enjoyed riding bulls in rodeos as a younger man, hunting and fishing. Most important to Jeff was his family, Anna and his sons. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Loving Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Huerta-Franklin of Carlsbad, N.M.; two beautiful young boys, Ty Bailey, 4, and Bradyn Cody Franklin, 7 months; brothers Jon (Susan) Franklin of Carlsbad, N.M., Jay (Marie) Wayne Franklin and Jared (Leslie) Franklin of Hereford; grandparents Mildred and Lee Maxton of Tempe; grandparents Tom and Faye Halstead of Punkin Center and Rex and Glenace Collier of Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews throughout Arizona.
Jeff was preceded in death by brother Rodney Wayne Halstead II of Phoenix.
He was laid to rest at Carlsbad Cemetery Aug. 12, 2008.
