The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ November 12, 2010 Wilda Mae “Billy” Thwaits, 86, died in the early morning hours Nov. 5, 2010, at Tall Pines Nursing Home in Show Low. She was born Jan. 27, 1924, to the Late Francis T. and Stella Mae (Ford) McQuillin in Fowler, Colo. Wilda worked for various employers around the White Mountains. She worked for The Paint Pony, Valley National Bank and Hall Motors. She loved bowling and served as the secretary for the bowling league for many, many years. Wilda is survived by her sons: Anthony C. Cooley, Jimmie “Butch” (Kenna) Ballou of Texas and Barry Kim Thwaits of Pittsburgh, Pa.; sister Patricia Mounce of Globe; nephews: Kenneth Richard Hext, Bobie Mounce, Dale Mounce and Jim Mounce; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Earl Thwaits and her sister, Mary. Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel 320 N. 9th Street. in Show Low. The family has requested that memorial donations be made in Wilda’s name to the American Lung Association 102 W. McDowell Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85003.
