The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ November 12, 2010 Joseph John Thomas also known as “Noki” of Whiteriver entered into eternal rest Nov. 6, 2010, in Whiteriver. Noki was born Feb. 6, 1979, in Phoenix. Joseph is survived by his parents: Tommy and Phoebe Thomas; daughter Katie Curtis; biological parents Everett and Nettie Massey; father:Jeffery Altaha; sisters: Tammy Thomas-Dazen, Megan Thomas, Pearlinda Tenijieth, Wendy Massey; brother Elijah Ty Thomas; uncles Boyd Dahkoshay Sr., Manley Dahkoshay, Wayne Dahkoshay, Elmer Dahkoshay Sr., Willis Dahkoshay, Henry Thomas (Leah), Leroy Thomas; aunts Eunice Pinal (Stanley), Nellie Cody, Ynocencia Massey (Homer), Verna Dahkoshay, Rosalan Junes, Carlyn Morris (Chris), Evelyn Thomas, Brenda Thomas; grandmothers: Edith Z. Bourke, Emma June Truax; grandfather Reafeal Zahgotah; along with many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Carlos Kay Thomas; grandparents: Quinten and Ruth (Zahgotah) Dahkoshay, Carl and Alberta Thomas; uncles: Lonnie Dahkoshay, Wesley Dahkoshay, Larry Dahkoshay; and cousins David and Diedra Dahkoshay. A two night wake will be held at his parent’s residence (714 E. Dahkoshay Dr.) in Whiteriver starting Thursday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Aday Memorial Hall in Whiteriver with Pastor Gary Lupe officiating. Interment will be at the Whiteriver Cemetery. Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled arrangements.
