The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ November 12, 2010 Roy P. Davis, 86, of Springfield, Ill. died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born Sept. 14, 1924, in Gail, Texas to Owen Richard and Jewel (Fritz) Davis. Roy married Dorothy Beard in 1949. He later married Bonnie Lou Hines in 1972 in Springfield; she preceded him in death in 1991. He married Marcella Raulston in 1994. He was preceded in death by a son,Tim Davis; grandchild Jessica Davis; great-grandchild McKay Richardson; and his first wife Dorothy, in 2004. Roy was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a plumbing contractor until his retirement. He was a member of House of Prayer Apostolic Church. He is survived by his wife, Marcella; son and daughter-in-law Richard and Toni Davis of Springerville; three daughters: Kathy (Richard) Nicholai of Olathe, Kansas, May (Randy) Sullivan of Globe, and Fran (Charles) Dobey of Aztec, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 25, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Pastor G. Leroy Donathan officating. Burial was held at the Camp Butler National Cemetery.
