Reed James Kerby, 87, died Sept. 28, 2008, in Gilbert. He was born in Pima March 15, 1921.
Reed was a prominent farmer in Chandler for over 50 years. He also was an avid roper and won many competitions throughout Arizona, Nevada, Oklahoma and New Mexico. His summers were spent in Northern Arizona inviting his family and friends to stay and enjoy the mountains he so loved.
Reed is survived by his loving wife, Julia of 68 years, and children, Larry (Irasema) of Panama, Karin (Dan) Riggs of Gilbert, Vickie (Nick) Karkula of Lakeside and Ricky (Mary Sue) of Chandler, 22 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A visitation was held Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Bueler Mortuary in Chandler. Services were held at Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Lindsay 3rd Ward Building of the LDS Church, 6345 S. Lindsay Road, in Chandler with visitation one hour prior.
