The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ October 30, 2008 Joni Hanson Chisum died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, in Flagstaff. She was born June 28, 1941, to Troy Hanson and Helen MacDaniels Hanson at home in Overgaard. She was delivered by her grandmother, Elizabeth Hanson, the midwife for the area at the time. Joni was a very intelligent individual who accomplished a lot in her life. She had a very quick wit and could be very funny. She was passionate about education. She loved to read, garden and travel. She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Chuck) Rife of Overgaard; granddaughters Davi Faust Jones of Mesa, Charla Faust of Overgaard, Shelby (John) Richards of Prescott Valley, Sheena (Julius Ohlson) Faust of Overgaard and Danni Faust of Mesa; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Helen Hanson, brother Troy Jr. and sister Hazel Hanson. Private services will be held.
