WALKER,
Theresa Nadine
(Maiden Name: Cherry)
The White Mountain Independent,
Show Low, Arizona ~ November 16, 2010
Teresa Walker, 68, of Pima, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, Nov. 6, 2010, at her son's residence, surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 15, 1942, the daughter of Harvey and Beatrice Whitson Cherry in Fort Defiance.
As a teenager, her family relocated to Los Angeles, Calif. While there, Teresa met LeRoy Walker. In 1962, they renewed their acquaintance and were married Sept. 16 of that same year. Together, Teresa and LeRoy relocated to Round Valley, as she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the White Mountain Hospital and also for Home Health.
In 1997, Teresa moved to the Gila Valley to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She took pleasure in home canning, camping with her family and traveling with LeRoy and Charlene Cherry throughout the country. Selfless and generous, she is an inspiration to all of us and will be greatly missed.
She is survived her son, Marlin (Shirlene), of Pima; two daughters, Barbara Walker, of Durango, Colo. and Kellyn Solis (Roy) of Nutrioso; and eight grandchildren.
Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; son Donny William Walker; and her father and mother, Beatrice and Harvey Cherry.
