Jack "John" Conway Bryan 87, passed away in Kennewick, Wash., on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010. He was born in Birmingham, England, on March 9, 1923, to Charlie and Gladys Bryan.
After marrying the love of his life, Margaret, in 1949, they moved across the pond to Canada in 1952. They moved in 1960 to the United States where he settled in California. Jack retired in 1982 from his job at Continental Airlines, he was an Aircraft Mechanic, and moved to Prescott, Ariz. Jack and Margaret lived there for over 25 years, making many wonderful friends through those years. Jack would always say the happiest time of his life was spent in Prescott in his mountaintop home. Jack moved to Kennewick, Wash., in 2005.
Jack was a self-taught man learning masonry, carpentry and mechanics, putting it all too good use in his many homes. He had a passion for gardening. He was a kind and generous man, his friends were like family and he was always ready to help when needed.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Bryan of Kennewick; daughters, Karan Morse (husband Charlie) of Weiser, Idaho and Susan Cabrey (husband David) of Kennewick, Wash.; sons, Stephen Bryan (wife Annette) of Simi Valley, Calif. and Christopher Bryan (wife Denise) of Tucson, Ariz.; sister Eileen Moore in England; several sisters-in-law in Canada and England. Jack had 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Jack asked for a family viewing and internment at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15. Many family members could not be here during this time so a Memorial service is planned for the spring of 2011 so family and friends can all celebrate Jack's life together. Jack will be buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 915 By-Pass Highway, Richland, WA 99352; (509) 946-5678.
