BENZIGER, Teresa L.

August 9, 1930 – October 30, 2010 Teresa L. (Piacitelli) Benziger, 80, passed away peacefully in Paradise, CA. She was born in Hudson, MA to Pietro and Antonetta Diani. She was the wife of Francis J. Piacitelli Jr. who passed away in 1983, and John (Jack) Benziger who passed away in 2004. Teresa is survived by her children Julie Piacitelli-Braden and her husband Mark, Francis J. Piacitelli III, Joanne Maiden and her husband Dave, Nettie Sloma and her husband Richie, Mark Piacitelli and his wife Debbie, Carl Piacitelli; 14 grandchildren Shawn, Adria, Tirzah, Krystal, Sabrina, TJ, Glen, Shane, Alicia, Richie, Mark, Ryan, Austin and Emily; 11 great grandchildren Kaelyn, Nikki, Jaymi-Rae, Caleb, Caiden, Jonas, Adrianna, Isabella, Guinevere, Mason and Aubrey. She is also survived by her sisters Mary Diani of Marlborough, MA, Ambrosina Coache of Chesterfield, NH and brother Francis Diani of Goleta, CA. She was sister to Joseph and Felix Diani, Carla Torelli, Pauline Santos and Jean Adams. Teresa graduated from St. Michaels Academy and a devout Catholic. She made Lake Havasu her home in 1974. She was a member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary, Havasu Regional Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Catholic Women’s Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010, 1:00 PM at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. Father Thomas Kawai will offer words of comfort and inspiration. Interment will take place at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on November 23, 2010 at 12:30 PM.
