NIEMAN, Edith Eldena

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, November 17, 2010 Edith Eldena Nieman, age 89 years and 6 days, passed away on Nov. 15, 2010, in Prescott, Ariz. She was born on Nov. 9, 1921, in Rock Falls, Ill., to Oliver Taylor Sisson and Lucy Harriet Quackenbush. Eldena attended Hoopole High School in Illinois and later became a telephone operator, retiring from Sears Roebuck. She loved to watch sports on TV, especially the Phoenix Suns. Eldena is predeceased by her husband, Bernard G. Nieman Sr.; her brothers, Edward Sisson and Rollin Gene Sisson; and her son, Brian Nieman. She leaves two sons, Bernard G. Nieman Jr. (Luanne) and Gerald Ray Nieman (Mary). She had four grandchildren, Patrick Nieman and Jennifer Dauzvardis, Timothy Nieman and Daniel Nieman. She also leaves seven great-grandchildren. A service for Eldena will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prescott. The family suggests that donations in Eldena's name be made to your favorite charity. Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Information provided by survivors.
