Arizona Republic (Phoenix AZ) Thursday, November 18, 2010 Mary Francis (Chapman) Allison was an Arizona pioneer born in a tent in Wickenburg, AZ on Dec 28, 1937 and she remained an Arizona resident her whole life. For forty-eight years Mary was a visible contributing member of the Laveen community. She worked for the Laveen School District for over twenty years and became famous for her fresh baked rolls. As a 4-H leader and a Clogging coordinator Mary was deeply involved with the future of the children of Laveen. Laveen was part of her heart and she was so proud to be Grand Marshall of the Laveen Community Parade in 2008. She will be missed by everyone who knew her and shared her life. Mary is survived by her husband Bud, six children, many grandchildren, five brothers and one sister. Mary passed away Nov 10, 2010 of cancer. Services will be Friday, November 19, 2010, at East Resthaven Park Mortuary, 4310 E Southern Ave., Phoenix 85042. Viewing is 12-1:30pm followed by graveside services at 2pm. For 48 years, Mary was a visible contributing member of the Laveen community. She worked for the Laveen School District for more than 20 years and became famous for her fresh-baked rolls. As a 4-H leader and a Clogging coordinator, Mary was deeply involved with the future of the children of Laveen. Laveen was part of her heart, and she was so proud to be Grand Marshall of the Laveen Community Parade in 2008. She will be missed by everyone who knew her and shared her life. Services were conducted Friday, Nov. 19 at East Resthaven Park Mortuary, 4310 E Southern Ave., Phoenix AZ 85042. Viewing was held noon to 1:30 p.m., followed by graveside services at 2 p.m. A dinner reception followed at the family home, 12009 S 51st Ave. in Laveen, Ariz.
