Everett Clair Young, 81, died 1-2-04 in Mesa, AZ.
Survived by former wife Doris Young, children Jerry, Kerry, Jan, Sandy Ladewig, Cindy, Rennie, Glen and twelve grandchildren.
"Babe" Young, University of Illinois 1947 Industrial Design graduate, invented: Commonly used coiled, cord light fixture Patent #2,750,492 with adjustable height, and electric 'potato' peeler #2,958,355. Everett copied God-given phenomena of meteorites and demonstrated his invention for NASA Inventions and Contributions Board. He patented "Buffer for High-Speed Craft" #3,231,219 and "Apparatus with Multiple Purpose Components for Enabling the Serviceability and Maneuverability of a Craft" #3,416,750. Astronaut Sally Ride wrote that his "contribution" was "highly significant". His honors include: Spirit of Arizona award; Who's Who in America; England's Men of Achievement; Nobel Peace Prize nominee; First Five Hundred Notable Scientists.
