Betty Jo "B.J." Hoy, 53, died early Saturday morning, Nov. 1, 2008, at her home in Overgaard. B.J. was born June 27, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Owen Duncan and Josephine Jeanette (Abbott) Bell.
When about three years of age, she moved from her native Ohio to Arizona.
After receiving her real estate license, she began an long and productive career as a real estate agent. She has lived in Overgaard the past several years and thoroughly enjoyed living amongst the tall pine trees along the Mogollon Rim.
She is survived by her husband, George Phillip Hoy; children Samuel Washburn, Brandon Washburn, Bethany Odebralski, Gregory Washburn, Branden Hoy and Corrie North; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Gary Bell and Robert Bell; and sister Patricia Eich.
A memorial service will be held at noon Sunday, Nov. 9, at the American Legion Post 86, 2068 Lumber Valley Road, in Overgaard.
