Richard Charles Ross, 67, of Vernon died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at RTA Hospice in Lakeside. He was born Sept. 22, 1941, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Anthony and Rosalie (DeAnato) Ross.
He was raised and attended school in Brooklyn, graduating from high school in 1957. He entered the U.S. Army, serving in 1964. He married Pat Aquila in 1966 in Brooklyn.
He moved to Phoenix in 1971. He worked as a supervisor for American Express. He came to Vernon 10 years ago, and worked as a stocker for Wal-Mart. He enjoyed working with wood and building things. He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife, Pat; two daughters, Cheryl-Anne Ross and Debra-Beth Ross, both of Scottsdale; sister Rossanne Ross of Phoenix; two grandchildren, Serena Jade and Jakob Ross of Scottsdale.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 7, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 10815 N. 84th St., in Scottsdale.
Arrangements are under the direction of Black's Mortuary of Show Low.
