PANCHER, JR., Paul Robert


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ November 11, 2008 Paul Robert Pancher Jr., 69, died peacefully, Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at RTA Hospice and Palliative Care in Lakeside following a lengthy illness. Paul was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Compton, Calif. to the late Paul Robert and Kathleen (Busby) Pancher, Sr. He was a crane operator for many years in the construction industry. He and his sweet wife, Shirley, moved to Heber after his retirement nine years ago. In his younger years, Paul served his country by enlisting in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received veterans status after his honorable discharge. Paul was a lifetime member of the NRA and an avid gun collector throughout his life and was known, by many, to be an expert marksman. But more importantly, Paul was a loving husband who adored his wife. He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Reichard) Pancher of Heber; four children, Cynthia Rettig of Pacifica, Calif., Paula Becker (Bruce) of San Diego, Calif., Scott Rettig of Hesperia, Calif., Paul Richard Pancher (Tamera)Fall Brook, Calif.; two sisters: Samantha Madsen (Wayne Olgin) of Simi Valley, Calif., Peggy James (Jack) of White City, Ore.; three grandchildren: Cole Pancher, Carly and Caida Pancher. Memorial services will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Overgaard Baptist Church in Overgaard. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
