Copper Basin News, Hayden, Az. 17 Nov. 2010 Lee Roy Otts died Nov. 11, 2010, at the age of 83. He was born Sept. 23, 1927 in Sulligent, Alabama. Lee was one of seven children, active in sports during high school and married his high school sweetheart Mary; they celebrated their 62nd anniversary earlier this year. Together, along with Mary’s sister and brother-in-law, they made the long journey to Arizona to turn a new page in their life, eventually moving to Kearny, to work at Kennecott Copper Corporation. Lee worked for Kennecott for 30 years, with 27 of those as a supervisor at the time of his retirement. He was a charter member of the Elks Club for 33 years and a member of the of the Southern Baptist church in Kearny where he resided for 50 years. Lee is survived by his wife Mary; sons, Keith Otts of Glendale and Terry Otts of Roosevelt, Arizona; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. On Nov. 11, he said goodbye to his life partner Mary, and hello to his Lord. Lee will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. Graveside services were held Tuesday, Nov. 16 at the Mountain View Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona.
