Max Jaramillo Chavez Jr., 66, passed away at his Mammoth residence Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010. He was born in Tiger Feb. 5, 1944 and lived in the area his entire life.
A member of the Steelworkers Union, he worked as a mill operator in the mine and enjoyed hunting whenever he could.
Survivors include sons Richard Louis of San Diego, Max V. of Tucson and Mark A. of San Diego; brothers Felix (Maria) of Oracle, and Frank (Bridget) of Mammoth; sisters Eva Lucero of Oracle, Terry Torres of San Manuel, Kristina Romero of Bagdad, and Socorro (Adolfo) Sanchez of Mammoth; and four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Monica Marie, 26 years ago.
Services were conducted Tuesday, Nov. 16 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Mammoth with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Rosary was at 10 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Walter Balduck at 10:30 a.m. Interment was in Valley View Cemetery . Griffith Mortuary assisted the family.
