Copper Basin News, Hayden, Az. 17 Nov. 2010 Antonia Cruz Canisales, 86, passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, in Mesa. She was born in Hayden Aug. 24, 1924 and was a homemaker who spent her adult life caring for her husband and children. She loved dancing with her husband, going on outdoor picnics, playing Scrabble and Bingo, and going to Church. She also enjoyed baseball and other team sports as a spectator and was a member of the Parish Altar Society and the American Legion with her beloved husband. Survivors include her daughters, Veronica Canisales-Mesina of Phoenix and Hayden and Mary Canisales Chacon of Phoenix; sons Mike (Rosalia) and Fidel, both of Hayden; brother Filiberto Cruz of Hayden; and 17 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Celestino and two sons, Victor and Chris Canisales. Services were at Griffith Mortuary Friday, Nov. 5, where a wake included a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, by Fr. Dale Branson. Interment was at Mt. View Cemetery in Hayden.
