The memorial service for Sylvia (Twiford) Fogg, 85, of Casa Grande was Thursday at United Methodist Church, 1515 N. Trekell Rd., Casa Grande, with the Rev. Carolyn Scribner officiating.
Mrs. Fogg was born May 11, 1918 in Asherville, N.C., to Lloyd and Lucy (Vance) Twiford and died Dec. 20, 2003 in Casa Grande. She was editor of company publications and company historian for Gerber Products Co., headquartered in Fremont, Mich., before retirement.
Before moving to Casa Grande in 1984 she was honored by Delta Air Lines with the "Order of the Flying Orchid" and was awarded the coveted Navy "E" at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. She was included in Who's Who of American Women, National Register of Prominent Americans and Foremost Women in Communications. She was the organizing president of David Vance Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and a nationwide 50-year member.
After moving to Casa Grande, she served on the boards of several organizations, including Against Abuse, Pinal Fine Arts Council and Woman's Club of Casa Grande.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Daniel; a daughter, Nancy C. Summers, a dean of Gaston College in Dallas, N.C.; a sister, Marcie Shenk of Chico, Calif.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
