Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Saturday, March 22, 2008 June 30, 1930 – March 17, 2008 Joan Bader passed away Monday ,in Lake Havasu City. She was born June 30, 1930 in Bayridge, Brooklyn, N.Y., to John J. and Anna M. Farrell. Joan was a registered nurse and retired from the State of New York Department of Correctional Services on June 17, 1998. She was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church, T.O.P.S. 437 and the Marine Corps League Auxiliary where she proudly served as Chaplin from 2003 to 2006. Joan loved being a homemaker and adored her family and grandchildren. She liked her nickel poker machines, was an avid bunco player and was a huge Diamondbacks fan. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, August Bader, of Lake Havasu City; sons, Steven Tinston, of Blauvelt, N.Y., John Tinston, of Ridgewood, N.J.; step sons, Wayne Bader and John Bader, of Lake Havasu City; and four grandchildren, Rory, Sean, Casey and Kendal Tinson. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Betty Ann Tinston; son, Albert Tinston; and three sisters, Frances, Blanche and Gladys. A memorial service will be held on April 4, at 11 a.m., at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Words of comfort and inspiration will be presented by Pastor Greg Mannel.
