Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Saturday, March 22, 2008 Irene Sallee, passed away March 7, 2008, in Cameron Park, Calif. She was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Santa Maria, Calif. She resided in Lake Havasu City for 25 years. For the last four years she has held lung cancer at bay but lost the fight to brain cancer. She joins her husband of 52 years, Ernest Sallee; her son, Johnny; and her parents, Louis and Irene Kalthoff on her next journey in Heaven. Irene was a retired registered nurse who worked in Lake Havasu hospitals and loved quilting. She is survived by one sister, Rose Schumann, of Fallbrook, Calif.; five daughters, Mary Lou (Steven) Dunn, of Placerville, Calif.., Joanne (Elmer) Ortiz, of Mira Loma, Calif., Peggy (Ray) Plourde, of Aurora, Colo., Barbara Jones, of Lake Havasu City, Julie Moulton and Dean Tucker, of Coeur D' Alene, Idaho; and two sons, Thomas (Kimberly) Sallee, of Cameron Park, Calif., and Mark (Mary) Sallee, of Placerville, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Irene was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed. We are better for having known her and thank God for the time He allowed us to have her. She was laid to rest with her husband at Green Valley Cemetery on March 15, 2008.
