JARVIS, Earl


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ September 25, 2008 Earl Jarvis, 93, died Sept. 20, 2008, at The Beehive House-La Casa Serena in Eagar. He was born Dec. 11, 1914, in St. Johns to Charles Reuel Jarvis and Melissa Maud Burk. He married Loree Hamblin in the Mesa Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Feb. 6, 1936. Earl was a rancher all of his life in Arizona, Colorado, Missouri and Florida. He was a good husband and family man. Earl was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served many stake missions. He loved roping in rodeos with his brothers. Earl is survived by sons Floyd (Mary Lynne) Jarvis of Ozark, Mo., Mervin (Luana) Jarvis of St. Johns and Karl (Sandra) Jarvis of Keokuk, Iowa; daughters Maela Collinwood of St. Johns, Kathryn (Melvin) Jones of St. Johns and Virgene Silvers of St. Johns; sisters Zeldene Dahm of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Nina Gale of St. George, Utah; 27 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loree Hamblin Jarvis, infant daughter Dorothy Jarvis, his parents, two brothers and four sisters. Visitation was held Thursday, Sept. 25, at the St. Johns Downtown Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, followed by a funeral service.
