Beatrice “Bea” DeLoria of Wickenburg, formerly of Newcomb, N.Y., died peacefully on Friday, Nov. 19. She was 83.
Born Beatrice Irene Gale on Feb. 10, 1927 in Tupper Lake, N.Y., she was a daughter of Edna V. (Mere) and Lester B. Gale of that village. She attended local schools and later married Donald A. DeLoria. They made their home first in Tahawus, N.Y., and later in Newcomb, N.Y. In August 1994 they moved to Wickenburg, Ariz.
In addition to raising her family, Bea was an avid sports woman and enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting and fishing. She was also an avid New York Mets baseball fan.
Bea is survived by sons Shane of Westminster, Colo.; Cris of Wickenburg; Robin of Newcomb, N.Y.; and Kyle of Wickenburg; step-sons Edward of Apopka, Fla.; and Marvin of Rochester, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister Eva E. Bellows, of Tupper Lake, N.Y.; as well as eight nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Donald A. DeLoria, she was predeceased by two sisters, Ellen Boyer and Edith (DeShaw) Leonard, both of Tupper Lake, N.Y.
Funeral arrangements will be with The Wickenburg Funeral Home of Wickenburg. She will be put to rest next to her husband. Friends wishing to remember Bea DeLoria may make memorial contributions in her name to a charity or organization of their choice.
